the 2002 starwood festival - july 23-28, 2002 - brushwood folklore center

While the onsite dining is generally satisfactory for most folks, sometime you might need to get away and enjoy an off-site sit down meal - or just something different. Suggestions include:

Our favorite retaurant in the region...
Ye Hare n Hounds Inn, Bemus Point - madbbs.com/users/tanka. 716/386-2181
An "olde" English country inn, reservations suggested.

Stedman Corners Store & Cafe, Mayville - stedmancoffee.com. 716/789-5047
Healthy, satisfying breakfast and lunch in a restored historic building.

French Creek Tavern & Liquor Store, Clymer - No Website. 716/355-4420
15 minutes SW of Brushwood, 1614 French Creek-Mina Road, Clymer, NY 14724
Casual Dining - it's a tavern. The liquor store is like something from the old west - "let me get the key and I'll take you out back to the shed".

Andriaccio's Restaurant, Mayville - andriaccios.com (down). 716/753-5200 or 716/789-4320
Good standard family fare. Route 394, 1/4 mile from the Chautauqua Institute.

Dick's Harbor House, Mayville - No Web. 716/753-2707
On 394 1/2 mile South of 430 across from the Chautauqua Marina. Acceptable scallops.

Italian Fisherman, Bemus Point - italianfisherman.com. 716/386-7000
The place for seafood. Upscale dining in a festive, family atmosphere. Scallops as yet unrated.

Hotel Lenhart, Bemus Point - hotellenhart.com. 716/386-2715
Classic five course breakfast. Charming dining room. 20 minutes East of Brushwood.

Plenty of small, quaint cafes and restaurants in the Chatauqua Institute, but for the Grand Dining experience, it will have to be the Athenaeum Hotel - athenaeum-hotel.com.

And of course, there are restaurants in Sherman. The Corral (76 & 430) is a favorite for good, hearty breakfasts, and the Sherman Pizzeria does deliver to Starwood.
