The Forest-Cathedral Theatre
Through the ad-lib ideals of vernacular architecture, Mike and Chelsea have been exploring nomadism and the plasticity of mind and matter. The work of the nomad/child/vagabond proceeds by inspired necessity, by absorbing whatever materials can be scavenged. They will be building a Forest-Cathedral Theater, cultivated directly from the Starwood environment. Form and function will overlap in an organically growing piece that engages each person in the Starwood community by providing a place to hang out and to contribute his or her own artistic efforts. This theater can be open for use for any performers who may consider it a sub stage to the existing performing spaces. We ideally will inspire and support improvisational theater as a lifestyle for the Starwood week and beyond. There will be an orientation class for this amazing space in the latter part of the event, near the project’s completion.
