Stephen Tharp

Stephen Tharp is a quilt maker and fiber artist who has participated in many juried and retrospective exhibitions. He has worked in the graphic arts field professionally in Napa, CA for several years. An active member of the Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh, he incorporates found materials of metal and fiber into unique sculptural works. He maintains a studio in Pulaski, PA, and has studied, crafted and exhibited his art for over thirty years utilizing a variety of mediums including quilting design and techniques, dyeing, beading techniques and metal collage. He will be directing the activities at Starwood's Creation Station.

Personal Shrines

Experiment with composition and pattern while creating your personal shrine. Bring small objects that carry significant meaning, such as beads, buttons or charms. We will repurpose bits of ephemera found on festival grounds. Base materials provided.
